September 11th 25th Anniversary Memorial Ceremony

Come early so you can view all the memorials and displays remembering the service and sacrifices of Kern County’s Veterans and also our First Responder Heroes that played pivotal roles in the aftermath of 9/11/2021.
WHAT:
September 11th 25th Anniversary Memorial Ceremony honoring and remembering Kern County’s Post 9/11 Fallen Warriors.
Portrait of a Warrior Gallery’s Traveling Fallen Warrior Portraits will be on display at Bakersfield’s 9/11 Memorial at Bakersfield Fire Station #15 all day, from 9:00am** to @8:30pm. We’re very happy that schools will be bringing some students to the event so they can learn more about 9/11/2001 and how that changed our lives.
Gallery Volunteers and VA Work Studies will be available at the Traveling Fallen Warrior Portrait wall and at our Portrait of a Warrior canopy too.
Help us show support to these 27 Fallen Heroes Gold Star Families; many of our warriors who gave the ultimate sacrifice have family members attending the evening ceremony. They are traveling from North Carolina to Washington, Texas to Nevada to Idaho and from all over California.

**There is another formal ceremony at 9:30am hosted by the Bakersfield Fire Department.
